1Check the Nomad line and data selection
In your cellular or SIM settings, confirm the Nomad eSIM is turned on. Select it as the mobile-data line and make sure mobile data itself is enabled. If you use two SIMs, check that the phone has not switched data back to your primary line.
2Check what the signal indicator says
If the Nomad line shows no service, move to an open area and toggle airplane mode on, wait a few seconds, then turn it off. Give the phone time to register. A weak or absent signal is different from a data-setting problem.
3Refresh network registration
Restart the phone once. If it still cannot register, use automatic network selection first. Try manual selection only when Nomad’s instructions for your destination name a supported network; after testing, return the phone to automatic selection.
4Check the installed plan’s current status
Open Nomad and confirm the purchased plan is available, its validity has started as expected, and it has remaining data. Check the current destination and plan details in the app or order information. A phone can show signal even when the plan has no usable data left.
5Follow the plan’s data-roaming and APN instructions
Some travel eSIM setup instructions require data roaming on for that eSIM. Enable it only for the Nomad line when the plan instructions say to. Change an APN only to the exact value provided for your plan; do not copy settings from another provider or a forum post.
6Test whether the problem is only one app
With Wi-Fi off, open a basic webpage and try a second app. If other services work, check the affected app’s permissions, VPN, private relay, or data-saver settings. Avoid changing the eSIM profile for an app-specific fault.
